At the start of the process, Ford approved inspectors/RAC engineers assess whether a car can meet Ford Direct standards. Inside, outside, under the bonnet, under the car; even the tool kit is scrutinised to make sure it's complete and up to scratch. Following a road test, the car will then go through the Ford used vehicle reconditioning process, where it gets the "treatment". Any defects noted on the preliminary check are put right. The car's history is brought up to date and it then has a full valet. Finally the car has to pass a road test. |

Once the vehicle passes Ford's standards, an independent RAC inspector will then complete his own thorough examination of the car. Only then will it be given a security hologram, the mark of a genuine Ford Direct car. |

If you don't like your Ford Direct car for any reason, even if you just go off the colour, you can exchange it within the first 30 days or 1000 miles (whichever is the sooner), subject to a few sensible terms and conditions: |
